10:59 AM, 4th March 2013

DOHA, QATAR: Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) has taken over the marketing, sales and distribution activities of Qatar Fertiliser Company (Qafco). Now on, Muntajat will market urea, ammonia, melamine and urea formaldehyde condensate (UFC-85) produced by Qafco, Qatar Melamine Company (QMC) and Gulf Formaldehyde Company (GFC).

The migration of Qafco’s marketing, sales and distribution activities to Muntajat was completed on 1 March 2013, marking an important milestone in the company’s strategic consolidation programme. Muntajat plans to complete the proposed consolidation of all nine operating entities by mid-2013, resulting in a single focal point for the marketing and distribution of the country’s chemical and petrochemical products and providing an exceptional platform for economic growth, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

“This second transition strengthens Muntajat’s economies of scale and global reach. By bringing key individuals from Qafco to the sales and marketing team at Muntajat, it provides further assurance of the expertise of our team, which is committed to the continued supply of our superior products and dedicated to the long-term creation of value for all our stakeholders,” said Abdulrahman Ali al-Abdulla, CEO, Muntajat.
