Julius Thomsen was born on February 16, 1826


Thomsen was a Danish chemist


He determined the amount of heat evolved from or absorbed in a large number of chemical reactions


Thomsen also devised the first table of the relative strengths of acids


He developed a method to manufacture of soda from the mineral cryolite


Thomsen derived a principle called Thomsen-Berthelot principle thermochemistry
