Ludwig Mond was born on March 07, 1839

 

Mond was a German-born chemist and industrialist

 

He established the ammonia soda process

 

Mond improved the Solvay alkali process and devised a process for the extraction of nickel

 

He discovered nickel carbonyl

 

Mond developed a valuable method known as the Mond process for extracting nickel from its ores by use of this carbonyl.

 

He was awarded the grand cordon of the Order of the Crown of Italy
