Lanolin is the complex mixture of long chain waxy esters, hydroxy ester and diesters. It is also termed as wool wax or wool grease. Commercially lanolin and its derivate compounds find uses in lubricants, rustproof coatings, polishes, lip balm, baby skin treatment products and in saddle soaps.
Acrolein is prepared industrially by oxidation of propene. The process uses air as the source of oxygen and requires metal oxides as heterogeneous catalysts.Acrolein is a relatively electrophilic compound and a reactive one, hence its high toxicity. It is a good Michael acceptor, hence its useful reaction with thiols.
Oleic acid in chemical terms is monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid because of the single double bond between the carbons. It has the formula of C18H34O2 and is pale yellow or brownish yellow oily liquid with lard-like odor. Oleic acid is the emollient in cosmetics, an emulsifying agent in soaps, the excipient in pharmaceuticals and solubilizer in aerosol products.
Cetyl Alcohol, also known as palmityl alcohol is a member of the long chain organic oleochemicals called fatty alcohol. In industrial applications, cetyl alcohol is a primary ingredient in fuels, chemical intermediates, and plasticizers, as an emulsifier, emollient, thickening agent in cosmetics and personal care products.
Lauryl Alcohol is an oleochemical, produced industrially from coconut oil, palm kernel oil. Hydrogenation of methyl esters, Ziegler process are the other industrial methods to produce lauryl alcohol. Chemically it is a 12 carbon atom chain saturated fatty acid and used to make emollient in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food additive, surfactants and lubricating oils
Polyisobutylene is a very versatile, non-toxic, water-white viscous liquid and has the ability to increase tackiness, to provide water-repellency, to improve viscosity-index and it provides excellent electrical insulation. The Connect PB-range is non-hazardous and has no-odor, whereby the product can be used as a thickener and lubricant in a wide range of applications, such as Adhesives, Glues, Sealants, Resins, Lubricants, Asphalt, Stretch Wrap, Electrical insulation, Cosmetics and Food (Gumbase-grade). The standard molecular weight ranges from 300 to 2400 and the product can be easily mixed/ blended into Synthetic and Mineral Oils, Waxes, Solvents, Esters, Polymers, Resins and Bitumen.
Calcium Stearate is the product of saponification reaction between the stearic acid and calcium oxide. It regarded as calcium soap. Calcium stearate is physiologically safe waxy material finds uses in many specialty chemical industries like lubricant in pencils, crayons, paper production, surfactants, foodstuffs, fabrics waterproofing agent, acid scavenger or neutralizer in the plastics industry.
Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether is used as a fuel component in fuel for gasoline engines. It is one of a group of chemicals commonly known as oxygenates because they raise the oxygen content of gasoline.
Oleic acids are used to produce soaps, detergents, maintenance products, textiles, printing inks, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc. and they are intermediates for the synthesis of esters, salts, alkoxylates, epoxy-stearates, dimer acids.
Dicyclopentadiene offered by us does not contain any kind of impurities and find applications in resins, particularly, unsaturated polyester resins. It is also used in inks, adhesives, and paints. It is also a kind of high-energy fuel.
