tert-Dodecanethiol is polymerization regulator of synthetic rubber, resin and synthetic fiber, particularly used in the manufacturing of styrene-butadiene rubber and ABS resin, because it can reduce the degree of branching of the polymer chain and make molecular weight distribution uniformly. It is also commonly used for non-ionic surfactants agents and intermediates of organic synthesis.
