It was used for air conditioners and refrigerators,as an aerosol propellant for hair sprays, insecticides, paints, adhesives, and cleaners,and as a foaming agent in the manufacture of shipping plastics.It is banned in many countries due to concerns about being a major contributor to ozone depletion.
