Demeclocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic. It is derived from a strain of Streptomyces aureofaciens. It is officially indicated for the treatment of various types of bacterial infections. Its use as an antibiotic is particularly in Lyme disease, acne and bronchitis.
Nakamuric Acid obtained by chemoselective oxidation of sceptrin.
Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic. It is usually used in treating urinary tract infection. It is often used against E. coli. Nitrofurantoin is a commonly used drug in the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections.
Sulfamethazine is a sulfanilamide anti-infective agent. It has a spectrum of antimicrobial action similar to other sulfonamides. It is a sulfonamide drug that inhibits bacterial synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by competing with para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) for binding to dihydropteroate synthetase (dihydrofolate synthetase). Sulfamethazine is bacteriostatic in nature. Inhibition of dihydrofolic acid synthesis decreases the synthesis of bacterial nucleotides and DNA.
Sulfaphenazole is a sulfonamide antibiotic that blocks the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by inhibiting the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase in bacteria.
Trichostatin A is an organic compound that serves as an antifungal antibiotic and selectively inhibits the class I and II mammalian histone deacetylase (HDAC) families of enzymes, but not class III HDACs. It inhibits the eukaryotic cell cycle during the beginning of the growth stage. It can be used to alter gene expression by interfering with the removal of acetyl groups from histones and therefore altering the ability of DNA transcription factors to access the DNA molecules inside chromatin. It is a member of a larger class of histone deacetylase inhibitors that have a broad spectrum of epigenetic activities. Thus, TSA has some potential as an anti-cancer drug. One suggested mechanism is that TSA promotes the expression of apoptosis-related genes, leading to cancerous cells surviving at lower rates, thus slowing the progression of cancer.
p-Chlorocresol is a chlorinated phenol which is used as an antiseptic and preservative. For use as a disinfectant such as a hand wash, it is commonly dissolved in alcohol in combination with other phenols. It is a moderate allergen for sensitive skin.
Acetopyrrothine is a sulfur-containing antibiotic, which is a potent inhibitor of bacterial and yeast RNA polymerases. It was found to inhibit in vitro RNA synthesis directed by all three yeast RNA polymerases (I, II, and III). It is also an inhibitor of mannan and glucan formation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and used for the analysis of mRNA stability. Studies have shown that acetopyrrothine inhibits adhesion of human umbilical vein endothelial cells to vitronectin and thus suppresses tumor cell-induced angiogenesis in vivo.

Bacitracin zinc is the zinc salt of bacitracin, a mixture of related cyclic polypeptides produced by the growth of an organism of the licheniformis group of Bacillus subtilis var Tracy. It is an antibiotic for topical infections caused by gram positive organisms, and it is the medicine applied to cuts and other skin wounds to help prevent infection.
