Azithromycin

Azithromycin is an azalide, a subclass of macrolide antibiotics. It is one of the world's best-selling antibiotics. It is derived from erythromycin, with a methyl-substituted nitrogen atom incorporated into the lactone ring, thus making the lactone ring 15-membered. It is used to treat or prevent certain bacterial infections, most often those causing middle ear infections, strep throat, pneumonia, typhoid, and sinusitis. In recent years, it has been used primarily to prevent bacterial infections in infants and those with weaker immune systems. It is also effective against certain sexually transmitted infections, such as non-gonococcal urethritis, chlamydia, and cervicitis. Recent studies have indicated it also to be effective against late-onset asthma, but these findings are controversial and not widely accepted.

Properties Suppliers
Azithromycin Dihydrate

Azithromycin Dihydrate is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic that is related to Erythromycin A. Azithromycin Dihydrate exhibits cross-resistance to erythromycin-resistant, gram-positive strains and resistance to most strains of enterococcus faecalis and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus. It is primarily used to treat respiratory tract and skin infections.

Properties Suppliers
Azomycin

Azomycin a congener of the radiosensitizing agent, misonidazole, sensitized hypoxic V79 hamster lung fibroblast cells to radiation and was cytotoxic to these cells. It is an antibiotic substance produced by an unidentified Streptomyces.

Properties Suppliers
B-Lupulic Acid

B-Lupulic Acid is an antibiotic component from HOP plant. It is used in treatment for anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia. It is effective against fungi and various bacteria. It activates different apoptotic pathways in human colon tumor cells and in their derived metastatic cells. It was evaluated for in vivo antimicrobial activity to inhibit C.perfringens in a chick gastrointestinal colonization model.

Properties Suppliers
Bacampicillin

Bacampicillin is an antibiotic in the class of drugs called penicillins. It fights bacteria in the body. Bacampicillin is used to treat many different types of infections, such as tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, and infections of the skin. Bacampicillin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Properties Suppliers
Bacitracin

Bacitracin is a mixture of related cyclic polypeptides produced by organisms of the licheniformis group of Bacillus subtilis var Tracy. It interferes with the dephosphorylation of the C55-isoprenyl pyrophosphate, a molecule that carries the building-blocks of the peptidoglycan bacterial cell wall outside of the inner membrane. It is used in human medicine as a polypeptide antibiotic. It is also commonly used as an aftercare antibiotic on tattoos.

Properties Suppliers
Bacitracin A

Bacitracin A is a cyclic dodecapeptide and with the most important component of bacitracin. It is effective against several types of Gram-positive organisms, and usually used topically for superficial local infection.

Properties Suppliers
Bacitracin Zinc

Bacitracin zinc is the zinc salt of bacitracin, a mixture of related cyclic polypeptides produced by the growth of an organism of the licheniformis group of Bacillus subtilis var Tracy. It is an antibiotic for topical infections caused by gram positive organisms, and it is the medicine applied to cuts and other skin wounds to help prevent infection.

Properties Suppliers
Bafilomycin A1

The bafilomycins are a family of toxic macrolide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces griseus. These compounds all appear in the same fermentation and have quite similar biological activity. Bafilomycins are specific inhibitors of vacuolar-type H+-ATPase. The most used bafilomycin is bafilomycin A1. This is a useful tool as it can prevent the re-acidification of synaptic vesicles once they have undergone exocytosis. Bafilomycin has antibacterial, antifungal, antineoplastic, immunosuppressive activities. In addition, bafilomycin A1 has antimalarial activity. It has been shown to decrease multi-drug resistance.
