Monoammonium glutamate

Monoammonium glutamate is an ammonium acid salt of glutamic acid. It is used as a flavor enhancer.

Properties Suppliers
Monopotassium Glutamate

Monopotassium Glutamate is used in foods as a flavor enhancer. It is a non-sodium MSG alternative.

Properties Suppliers
Monosodium Glutamate

Monosodium Glutamate is the sodium salt of glutamic acid, one of the most abundant naturally-occurring non-essential amino acids. It is found in tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, potatoes, mushrooms, and other vegetables and fruits.Monosodium Glutamate is used in the food industry as a flavor enhancer with an umami taste that intensifies the meaty, savory flavor of food, as naturally occurring glutamate does in foods such as stews and meat soups. Monosodium Glutamate as a flavor enhancer balances, blends and rounds the perception of other tastes. It can be used to reduce the intake of sodium, which contributes to hypertension, heart disease and stroke.

Properties Suppliers
N-Butyl Acetate

N-Butyl Acetate is a clear, moderately volatile liquid with a characteristic ester odour. It is miscible with all conventional solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers, aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its solubility in water is limited. N-Butyl acetate is an important solvent in the paints industry on account of its versatility. It is an excellent solvent for cellulose nitrate, resins and polymers and for oils and fats. Its moderate volatility and its resistance to blushing and levelling problems such as orange peel effects make it possible for paints with excellent levelling and gloss to be formulated. N-Butyl acetate is often employed in combination with n-butanol in paints, because n-butanol enhances the resistance to blushing and increases the solvency in many cases. N-Butanol cannot be used in paint systems that have to be free of hydroxyl groups, such as isocyanate paints. It is found in many types of fruit, where along with other chemicals it imparts characteristic flavors and has a sweet smell of banana or apple. It is used as a synthetic fruit flavoring in foods such as candy, ice cream, cheeses, and baked goods.

Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone

Neosperidin dihydrochalcone is an artificial sweetener derived from citrus. It was discovered during the 1960s as part of a United States Department of Agriculture research program to find methods for minimizing the taste of bitter flavorants in citrus juices. As a flavour enhancer, it is used in a wide range of products. Pharmaceutical companies are fond of the product as a means of reducing the bitterness of pharmacological drugs in tablet form, and it has been used for livestock feed as a means of reducing feeding time. Other products NHDC can be found in may include a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, savoury foods, toothpaste, mouthwash and condiments such as ketchup and mayonnaise.
