Impose is used for the pre-emergence control of certain annual grass and broadleaf weeds in fallow situationssugarcane and peanuts and early post-emergence control of certain annual grass and broadleaf weeds in peanuts and sugarcane.
Lasher is used for the control of Annual (Wimmera) Ryegrass and certain broadleaved weeds in winter cereal crops.
ACHIEVE is a post-emergent grass herbicide for cereals. It is the premier grass herbicide in barley, offering unsurpassed safety and unprecedented control of wild oats and pigeongrass.
Aniline is an organic compound. Aniline was first isolated by destructive distillation of indigo by Otto Unverdorben. Aniline is the prototypical aromatic amine. Its main use is in the manufacture of precursors to polyurethane. Aniline is mainly produced in industry in two steps from benzene. First, benzene is nitrated using a concentrated mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid at 50 to 60 °C, which gives nitrobenzene. In the second step, the nitrobenzene is hydrogenated, typically at 200–300 °C in presence of various metal catalysts. Aniline reacts with carboxylic acids or more readily with acyl chlorides such as acetyl chloride to give amides. Aniline and its ring-substituted derivatives react with nitrous acid to form diazonium salts. It reacts with nitrobenzene to produce phenazine in the Wohl-Aue reaction.
Arsenic is a metalloid. It occurs in many minerals, usually in conjunction with sulfur and metals, and also as a pure elemental crystal. It was first documented by Albertus Magnus in 1250. The main use of metallic arsenic is for strengthening alloys of copper and especially lead. It is a common n-type dopant in semiconductor electronic devices, and the optoelectronic compound gallium arsenide is the most common semiconductor in use after doped silicon. Arsenic and its compounds, especially the trioxide, are used in the production of pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides. These applications are declining, however, as many of these compounds are being phased out. Arsenic poisoning from naturally occurring arsenic compounds in drinking water remains a problem in many parts of the world. During the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, a number of arsenic compounds have been used as medicines, including arsphenamine and arsenic trioxide. Arsphenamine as well as neosalvarsan was indicated for syphilis and trypanosomiasis, but has been superseded by modern antibiotics. Arsenic trioxide has been used in a variety of ways over the past 500 years, but most commonly in the treatment of cancer. Arsenic is also used in bronzing and pyrotechnics and for taxonomic sample preservation.
Benefin is used as selective soil-herbicide,inhibits root development. It is used with linuron or isoproturon for control of annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds in winter cereals.
Dalapon is an herbicide and plant growth regulator used to control specific annual and perennial grasses, such as quackgrass, Bermuda grass, Johnson grass, as well as cattails and rushes . It is selective, meaning that it kills only certain plants, while sparing nontarget types of vegetation. The major food crop use of dalapon is on sugarcane and sugar beets . It is also used on various fruits, potatoes, carrots, asparagus, alfalfa and flax. It is used in public and domestic sites, forestry, home gardening, and in or near water to control reed and sedge growth . Dalapon is applied both before the target plant comes up, preemergence, or after the plant emerges, postemergence. It is usually applied as a foliar spray. Dalapon is available as a water soluble powder
Dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) is an herbicide used to control annual and perennial rose weeds in grain crops and highlands, and it is used to control brush and bracken in pastures. It will kill broadleaf weeds before and after they sprout. Legumes will be killed by dicamba. In combination with a phenoxyalkanoic acid or another herbicide, dicamba is used in pastures, range land, and noncrop areas (fence rows, roadways and wastage) to control weeds. Brand names for formulations of this herbicide include Banvel, Oracle and Vanquish. It is in the benzoic acid family of herbicides. It is a light tan, slightly phenolic, crystalline liquid.
Glycine is an organic compound. With only two hydrogen atoms as its 'side chain', glycine is the smallest of the 20 amino acids commonly found in proteins. It is unique among the proteinogenic amino acids in that it is not chiral. It can fit into hydrophilic or hydrophobic environments, due to its two hydrogen atom side chain. Glycine is an intermediate in the synthesis of a variety of chemical products. It is used in the manufacture of the herbicide glyphosate. It serves as a buffering agent in antacids, analgesics, antiperspirants, cosmetics, and toiletries. It is also used as an additive in pet food and animal feed. Pharmaceutical grade glycine is produced for some pharmaceutical applications, such as intravenous injections.
Juglone is an organic compound. It occurs naturally in the leaves, roots, husks, and bark of plants in the Juglandaceae family, particularly the black walnut, and is toxic or growth-stunting to many types of plants. It is sometimes used as a herbicide, as a dye for cloth and inks, and as a coloring agent for foods and cosmetics.
