Fluoboric acid, also known as tetrafluoroboric acid, is an organic compound used in organic chemistry, galvanic cells, and metal plating. Fluoboric acid is found in alkylations and polymerizations as a catalyst, and galvanic cells and metal plating as an electrolyte. Fluoboric acid is also a cleaning agent on metal surfaces and used in the production of fluoroborate salt.
Lithium Chloride is mainly used for the production of lithium metal. It is also used as a brazing flux for aluminium in automobile parts. It is used as a desiccant for drying air streams. It is also used as a flame colorant to produce dark red flames.
Sodium acetate has a wide range of industrial applications. Sodium acetate is used in the textile industry and is used in heating pads, hand warmers, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic rubber production. Sodium acetate can also be used as a concrete sealant, food additive, and can act as buffer to sustain pH levels in biochemical applications.
Sodium citrate is well known for its extensive use as an emulsifying salt in sliced processed cheese products. Sodium citrate also has applications as a phosphate substitute in household cleaning products and as buffering agent in combination with citric acid to provide pH control in foods and beverages. Sodium citrate also functions as a complexing agent for aluminum, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Sodium formate is used in industrial applications and the production of other chemicals. Sodium formate is used in the production of sodium hydrosulfate and formic acid. Sodium formate is also used in leather tanning, printing processes, as a food additive, and as an enzyme stabilizer in detergents.
Sodium nitrate is a common nitrate salt used in many applications including in fertilizers and as a food preservative in meats. Sodium Nitrate is commonly used to preserve and keep the color of meat and poultry, it is also used in gunpowder and fireworks manufacturing. It has some minor use in the wastewater industry for facultative microorganism respiration.
Sodium sulfate is a highly water soluble compound mainly used in the manufacture of detergents and in paper pulping. In detergents its largest use is as a filler for powdered laundry detergents. It also has uses in the glass industry as a fining agent, and in textile manufacturing as a levelling agent. On a smaller scale, it can be used as a drying agent in organic solutions, as a laxative, in defrosting windows, carpet-fresheners, and in starch manufacturing.
Sulfur dioxide is a compressed liquid mostly commonly used as a reducing agent in wastewater and metal working applications.
Bromocresol Green is used as a pH indicator in applications such as growth mediums for microorganisms and titrations.
Calcium hydroxide is an inorganic compound. It is obtained when calcium oxide is mixed, or "slaked" with water. One significant application of calcium hydroxide is as a flocculant, in water and sewage treatment. Another large application is in the paper industry, where it is used in the production of sodium hydroxide. Because of its low toxicity and the mildness of its basic properties, it is widely used in the food industry.
