Burcomul 1055D is a cationic emulsifier for mineral seal oil based automotive rinse aids and spray waxes. Non- flammable and free of corrosive chloride salts.
Butyl acrylates are used chiefly as a monomer or co-monomer in making acrylic and modacrylic fibres. It is used in formulating paints and dispersions for paints, inks, and adhesives. It is used in making cleaning products, antioxidant agents, amphoteric surfactants. It is used in making aqueous resins and dispersions for textiles and papers.
Butyl carbitol is a slow-evaporating, hydrophilic glycol ether. It is primarily used as a solvent in coatings, inks, cleaners and specialty fluids. It is also used as a chemical intermediate to produce diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate and some herbicides, insecticides and plasticizers. It is also used in hydraulic brake fluid applications.
Cabelec® 3817 is a electrically conductive compound based on conductive carbon black and a modified linear low density polyethylene resin.
Cadmium iodide is a chemical compound of cadmium and iodine. It is used in lithography, photography, electroplating and the manufacturing of phosphors.
Calcium borate can be prepared by reacting calcium metal with boric acid. A hydrated form occurs naturally as the minerals colemanite, nobleite and priceite. One of its uses is as a binder in some grades of hexagonal boron nitride for hot pressing. Other uses are flame retardant in epoxy molding compounds, a ceramic flux in some ceramic glazes, reactive self-sealing binders in hazardous waste management, additive for insect-resistant polystyrene, fertilizer, and production of boron glasses.
Calcium boride is a compound of calcium and boron. It is an important material due to its high electrical conductivity, hardness, chemical stability, and melting point. It is used in the manufacturing of boron-alloyed steel and as a deoxidation agent in production of oxygen-free copper. It can also serve as a high temperature material, surface protection, abrasives, tools, and wear resistant material. It is highly conductive, has low work function, and thus can be used as a cathode material. It is also a promising candidate for n-type thermoelectric materials, because its power factor is larger than or comparable to that of common thermoelectric materials Bi2Te3 and PbTe.
Carbohydrazide is used as an oxygen scavenger in water treatment for boilers. It is an alternative to the hazardous and potentially carcinogenic hydrazine. Carbohydrazide reacts with oxygen to make water and nitrogen and urea. It also passivates metals and reduces metal oxides. It is widely used in the production of drugs, herbicides, rubber, plant growth regulators, and dyestuffs.
Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring chemical compound composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbonatom. It is a gas at standard temperature and pressure and exists in Earth's atmosphere in this state, as a trace gas at a concentration of 0.039% by volume. It is the most important greenhouse gas produced by human activities, primarily through the combustion offossil fuels. Its concentration in the Earth's atmosphere has risen by more than 30% since the Industrial Revolution.Carbon dioxide is used by the food industry, the oil industry, and the chemical industry. It is used in many consumer products that require pressurized gas because it is inexpensive and nonflammable, and because it undergoes a phase transition from gas to liquid at room temperature at an attainable pressure of approximately 60 bar (870 psi, 59 atm), allowing far more carbon dioxide to fit in a given container than otherwise would. Life jackets often contain canisters of pressured carbon dioxide for quick inflation. Aluminum capsules of CO2 are also sold as supplies of compressed gas for airguns, paintball markers, inflating bicycle tires, and for making carbonated water. Rapid vaporization of liquid carbon dioxide is used for blasting in coal mines. High concentrations of carbon dioxide can also be used to kill pests.
Catecholborane is a derivative of catechol and a boron hydride. It is commonly used in organic syntheses.
