N-Butyl Acetate

N-Butyl Acetate is a clear, moderately volatile liquid with a characteristic ester odour. It is miscible with all conventional solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers, aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its solubility in water is limited. N-Butyl acetate is an important solvent in the paints industry on account of its versatility. It is an excellent solvent for cellulose nitrate, resins and polymers and for oils and fats. Its moderate volatility and its resistance to blushing and levelling problems such as orange peel effects make it possible for paints with excellent levelling and gloss to be formulated. N-Butyl acetate is often employed in combination with n-butanol in paints, because n-butanol enhances the resistance to blushing and increases the solvency in many cases. N-Butanol cannot be used in paint systems that have to be free of hydroxyl groups, such as isocyanate paints. It is found in many types of fruit, where along with other chemicals it imparts characteristic flavors and has a sweet smell of banana or apple. It is used as a synthetic fruit flavoring in foods such as candy, ice cream, cheeses, and baked goods.

Nickel Monoxide

Nickel monoxide is a chemical compound. It has a variety of specialized applications and generally applications distinguish between "chemical", which is relatively pure material for specialty applications, and "metallurgical grade", which is mainly used for the production of alloys. It is used in the ceramic industry to make frits, ferrites, and porcelain glazes. The sintered oxide is used to produce nickel steel alloys. Charles Édouard Guillaume won the 1920 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on nickel steel alloys which he called invar and elinvar. It was also a component in the Nickel-iron battery, also known as the Edison Battery, and is a component in fuel cells. It is the precursor to many nickel salts, for use as specialty chemicals and catalysts. More recently, NiO was used to make the NiCd rechargeable batteries found in many electronic devices until the development of the environmentally superior Lithium Ion battery.

Non Ferric Alum

Non Ferric Alum is a purer form of aluminum sulphate. It is used in better grades of paper for loading and sizing purposes. Non Ferric Alum is manufactured from aluminium trihydrate whereas ferric alum uses bauxite as the raw material. The raw material is cooked with sulphuric acid under suitable conditions. The resultant product is cooled in suitable moulds to slabs. It is available both, in solid and in liquid forms.Non ferric alum imparts better brightness to paper when used with rosin for sizing. It forms a complex resinate that spreads evenly over the surface of paper. It finds other uses in pharmaceutical and mordanting industry. In water purification the highly positively charged aluminum precipitates negative suspensions as sludge.

Properties Suppliers
Ortho Toluidine

Toluidines are used in the production of dyes. They are a component of accelerators for cyanoacrylate glues. They are toxic and are suspected human carcinogens. o-Tolidine, used as a presumptive test for blood in forensic science, is two o-toluidine molecules linked together.

Properties Suppliers
Osmium Carbonyl

Osmium carbonyl is a metal carbonyl. This yellow-colored metal carbonyl cluster is an important precursor to organo-osmium compounds.

Properties Suppliers
Oxalyl Chloride

Oxalyl chloride is used as a chlorinating or acylating agent in organic synthesis. It is used in formulating military poison gas. It is also used in bleaching and rust treatment.

Properties Suppliers

Pentaerythritol is an organic compound. It is a versatile building block for the preparation of many polyfunctionalized compounds such as the explosive PETN and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate. Derivatives of pentaerythritol are components of alkyd resins, varnishes, PVC stabilizers, tall oil esters, and olefin antioxidants.

Properties Suppliers
Perchloric Acid

Perchloric acid is an inorganic compound. It is a strong acid as well as a powerful oxidizing agent. It is useful for preparing perchlorate salts, especially ammonium perchlorate, an important rocket fuel. It is a useful eluent in ion-exchange chromatography. It is also used for electropolishing/etching of aluminum, molybdenum, and other metals.
