Di-t-Butyl Dicarbonate

Di-t-butyl dicarbonate is a reagent widely used in organic synthesis. This carbonate ester reacts with amines to give N-tert-butoxycarbonyl or so-called t-BOC derivatives. These derivatives do not behave as amines, which allows certain subsequent transformations to occur that would have otherwise affected the amine functional group. The t-BOC can later be removed from the amine using acids. Thus, t-BOC serves as a protective group, for instance in solid phase peptide synthesis. It is unreactive to most bases and nucleophiles, allowing for an orthogonal Fmoc protection.

Dichlorodimethylsilane

Dimethyldichlorosilane is a tetrahedral, organosilicon compound. It is made on an industrial scale as the principal precursor to dimethylsilicone and polysilane compounds. It can be used as a coating on glass to avoid the adsorption of micro-particles.

Properties Suppliers
Dichloroethylene, 1,1-

1,1-Dichloroethene, commonly called 1,1-dichloroethylene or 1,1-DCE, is an organochloride . It is a colorless liquid with a sharp odor. Like most chlorocarbons, it is poorly soluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents. 1,1-DCE was the precursor to the original cling-wrap for food, but this application has been phased out.1,1-DCE is mainly used as a comonomer in the polymerization of vinyl chloride, acrylonitrile, and acrylates. It is also used in semiconductor device fabrication for growing high purity silicon dioxide (SiO2) films.

Properties
Dimethyl Stearyl Amine

Dimethyl stearyl amine is used as an intermediate for the manufacture of quaternary ammonium compounds, amine oxide and betaine surfactants for personal care, and institutional use. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor and acid-stable emulsifier.

Properties Suppliers
Disodium Pyrophosphate

Disodium pyrophosphate is a buffering and chelating agent, with many food and industrial uses. It is polyvalent, and acts as a Lewis base, so is effective at binding polyvalent cations. It is a GRAS substance for food use. It is used in canned seafood to maintain color and reduce purge during retorting. Retorting achieves microbial stability with heat. It is an acid source for reaction with baking soda to leaven baked goods. It also is found in frozen hash browns and other potato products, where it is used to keep the color of the potatoes from darkening. In leather treatment, it can be used to remove iron stains on hides during processing. It can stabilize hydrogen peroxide solutions against reduction; it can be used with sulfamic acid in some dairy applications for cleaning, especially to remove soapstone. In petroleum production, it can be used as a dispersant in oil well drilling muds.
