Umbelliferone

Umbelliferone is a widespread natural product of the coumarin family. It occurs in many familiar plants from the Apiaceae family. It absorbs ultraviolet light strongly at several wavelengths. The ultraviolet activity of umbelliferone led to its use as a sunscreen agent, and an optical brightener for textiles. It has also been used as a gain medium for dye lasers. It can be used as a fluorescence indicator for metal ions such as copper and calcium.

Upsalite

Upsalite is essentially just a water-free disordered form of magnesium carbonate and it is first reported in July 2013. Upsalite is reported to have the highest surface area measured for an alkali earth metal carbonate ever created. It is found to absorb more water at low relative humidities better than the best materials previously available. It can also be potentially used for collection of toxic waste, chemicals or oil spill and in drug delivery systems, for odor control and sanitation after fire. It also much better at low relative pressure uptake for water than currently used materials (such as the naturally occurring, relatively abundant zeolites), but it’s not yet clear if it has the potential to be financially viable. Upsalite is named this way after the Uppsala University in Sweden; the wonder material can retain more than 75% of the adsorbed water when the humidity is decreased from 95% to 5% at room temperature, which also means it can be used in drug delivery and catalysis.

Uranium

Uranium is a metallic chemical element in the actinide series of the periodic table. It is used as a colorant in uranium glass, producing orange-red to lemon yellow hues. It was also used for tinting and shading in early photography. The 1789 discovery of uranium in the mineral pitchblende is credited to Martin Heinrich Klaproth, who named the new element after the planet Uranus. Eugène-Melchior Péligot was the first person to isolate the metal and its radioactive properties were discovered in 1896 by Antoine Becquerel. Research by Enrico Fermi and others starting in 1934 led to its use as a fuel in the nuclear power industry and in Little Boy, the first nuclear weapon used in war.

Properties Suppliers
Uranium Chloride

Uranium tetrachloride (UCl4) is compound of uranium in oxidation state +4. It was used in the electromagnetic isotope separation (EMIS) process of uranium enrichment. It is one of the main starting materials for organouranium chemistry.

Properties Suppliers
Uranyl Nitrate

Uranyl nitrate is a uranium salt. It can be prepared by reaction of uranium salts with nitric acid. Along with uranyl acetate it is used as a negative stain for viruses in electron microscopy; in tissue samples it stabilizes nucleic acids and cell membranes. It is important for nuclear reprocessing; it is the compound of uranium that results from dissolving the decladded spent nuclear fuel rods or yellowcake in nitric acid, for further separation and preparation of uranium hexafluoride for isotope separation for preparing of enriched uranium.

Properties Suppliers
Urocanic Acid

Urocanic acid is an intermediate in the catabolism of L-histidine. It was first isolated in 1874 by the chemist M. Jaffé from the urine of a dog. Inherited deficiency of urocanase leads to elevated levels of urocanic acid in the urine, a condition known as urocanic aciduria.

Properties Suppliers
VITAGEL MS

VITAGEL MS is a optical fibre filling compound. It has been developed for applications in using pressure filling at ambient temperatures. Its soft thixotropic nature allows for stable processing and controlled overfeed of optical fibers into the cable. It is suitable for performance from temperature range -30 °C to +80 °C.

Properties Suppliers
Vanadium

Vanadium is a ductile transition metal. The element is found only in chemically combined form in nature. It is used as ferrovanadium or as a steel additive. Vanadium is compatible with iron and titanium, therefore vanadium foil is used in cladding titanium to steel.

Properties Suppliers
Vanadium Pentoxide

Vanadium Pentoxide supplied by Stratcor, Inc is a high-quality chemical which is the most stable and common compound of vanadium. It is a poisonous orange solid which, because of its high oxidation state, is both an amphoteric oxide and an oxidizing agent. Vanadium Pentoxide is used a raw material for the production of ceramic pigments and frits and for coloration /decoloration of glass. It is used as a catalyst for the production of sulphuric and adipic acid. Buy Vanadium Pentoxide online to get the chemical at an affordable price and superior quality.
