Acetic acid is an organic acid that gives vinegar its sour taste and pungent smell. It is a weak acid, in that it is only a partially dissociated acid in an aqueous solution. It is an important chemical reagent and industrial chemical, used in the production of polyethylene terephthalate mainly used in soft drink bottles; cellulose acetate, mainly for photographic film; and polyvinyl acetate for wood glue, as well as synthetic fibres and fabrics. In households, diluted acetic acid is often used in descaling agents. It is also used as a food additive.
m-Toluidine can be used as analytical reagent, but also for the organic and synthetic dyes. Inadditionally it can be used as cationic dyes, color film reagent intermediates.
p-Toluidine is the isomer of toluidine. Toluidines are used in the production of dyes. They are a component of accelerators for cyanoacrylate glues.

15(S)-HETE is an arachidonic acid metabolite with immunosuppressive activity.
Acenaphthene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) consisting of naphthalene with an ethylene bridge connecting positions 1 and 8. An alternative name, 1,2-dihydroacenaphthylene, emphasizes that it is a hydrogenated form of acenaphthylene. It is a constituent of coal tar.Acenaphthene was prepared the first time from coal tar by Marcellin Berthelot and after that with Bardy he synthesized it from a-ethyl naphthalene. It is used in preparation of dyes, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. It does not appear to be carcinogenic.
Acetaldehyde is one of the most important aldehydes, occurring widely in nature and being produced on a large scale industrially. It occurs naturally in coffee, bread, and ripe fruit, and is produced by plants as part of their normal metabolism. It is also produced by oxidation of ethanol and is popularly believed to be the cause of hangovers. Traditionally, acetaldehyde was mainly used as a precursor to acetic acid. In terms of condensation reactions, acetaldehyde is an important precursor to pyridine derivatives, pentaerythritol, and crotonaldehyde. Urea and acetaldehyde combine to give a useful resin. Acetic anhydride reacts with acetaldehyde to give ethylidene diacetate, a precursor to vinyl acetate, which is used to produce polyvinyl acetate.
Acetophenone is the simplest aromatic ketone. It occurs naturally in many foods including apple, cheese, apricot, banana, beef, and cauliflower. This colourless, viscous liquid is a precursor to useful resins and fragrances. It is used to create fragrances that resemble almond, cherry, honeysuckle, jasmine, and strawberry. It is used in chewing gum. Being prochiral, acetophenone is also a popular test substrate for asymmetric transfer hydrogenation experiments. It is also commonly used as a flavouring in many cherry flavoured sweets and drinks. Acetophenone is a raw material for the synthesis of some pharmaceuticals.
Acid blue 22 is a chemical compound used as a stain in histology. It can be used in the Mallory's connective tissue stain and Gömöri trichrome stain. It is used in differential staining.
