PROTEK 8020 is a unique formulation of special water-soluble additives in a powder form, designed to enhance water blasting performance and prevent the formation of surface/flash rust of ferrous surfaces. It is also very effective in protecting ferrous metals from flash rust after hot tank cleaning processes.
PROTEK 8025 is the liquid version of PROTEK 8020. It is designed to prevent the formation of flash rust on ferrous surfaces during and after water blasting or vat dipping. PROTEK 8025 is perfect to temporarily halt rust prior to painting metal surfaces.
Picric acid is one of the most acidic phenols. It has found some use in organic chemistry for the preparation of crystalline salts of organic bases for the purpose of identification and characterization. In metallurgy a picric acid etch has been commonly used in optical metallography to reveal prior austenite grain boundaries in ferritic steels. The hazards associated with picric acid has meant it has largely been replaced with other chemical etchants. Much less commonly, wet picric acid has been used as a skin dye or temporary branding agent. It reacts with proteins in the skin to give a dark brown color that may last as long as a month. Picric acid was stocked in pharmacies as an antiseptic and as a treatment for burns, malaria, herpes, and smallpox.
SPEC CUT 40 is a soluble oil concentrate specially designed to be a general purpose, multi-functional fluid for most ferrous and non ferrous materials and operations as diverse as cylindrical grinding, ID broaching and gear hobbing. SPEC CUT 40 provides extended sump life while reducing carry off and leaves a fluid oily residue to prevent sticky ways and chunks. It is effective in some types of screw machines as a replacement for straight cutting oil and has EP additives to reduce chip welding and mechanical lubricity for good performance on soft gummy materials.
Nitric acid is commonly used as a strong oxidizing agent. The main use of nitric acid is for the production of fertilizers. Other important uses include etching and dissolution of metals, especially as a component of aqua regia for the purification and extraction of gold, and in chemical synthesis. It has been used in various forms as the oxidizer in liquid-fueled rockets.
ASFOCLEAN SP is a spray degreasing chemical used for cleaning in automatic or spray machines for cleaning of ferrous and non ferrous metal parts.
ASFOCLEAN-HD is a highly alkaline cleaner used for removal of heavy duty grease, oil, dirt, drawing compounds, and carbon deposits from ferrous metals only. It is used for removal of carbon deposits and burnt oils from pistons, engine blocks etc. and for ferrous parts and components by hot immersion process prior to metal finishing processes.
Britemor 445 is a clear, mobile yellow-green liquid in daylight and appears brilliant yellow under UVA light of 365 nm peak wavelength (black light). Britemor 445 is typically used for the inspection of precision castings and forgings, machined surface and fabrications.
Britemor 446 is a clear, mobile, yellow-green liquid in daylight and appears brilliant yellow under UVA light of 365 nm peak wavelength (black light). Britemor 446 is typically used for the inspection of critical components, particularly of complex geometry where a high level of sensitivity and excellent water washability and resistance to overwashing is required.
Britemor 755 is a post-emulsifiable fluorescent penetrant. It is a stable solution of hydrocarbons, esters and fluorescent dyes. It contains no added sulfur, halogen or inorganic compounds and is essentially ash free on ignition.
