Chaps USP min. 98%

Chaps is a non-denaturing zwitterionic detergent for the solubilization of membrane proteins and breaking protein-protein interactions. Its structure combines the useful properties of both the sulfobetaine-type and the bile salt detergents.

With the characteristics of small micellar molecular weight and high critical micelle concentration (6-10 mM), CHAPS can be removed from the samples by dialysis. It is also suitable for protein solubilization for isoelectric focusing (IEF) and two-dimensional electrophoresis.CHAPS is commonly used for non-denaturing IEF and has been proved to give excellent resolution of some subcellular preparations and plant proteins.

Concentrations between 2-4% (w/v) are typically used in an IEF gel. Also, CHAPS works as a non-toxic stabilizing agent for growth factors.

Hepes USP min. 99%

Hopax is among the world's largest manufacturers and suppliers of Hepes (CAS 7365-45-9), a zwitterionic biological buffer often used in biological and biochemical research.

This Good's buffer is a very popular buffering agent in cell culture medias. Its use has been reported in electroporation, electrophoresis and studies related to the pH effects on seed germination, among others.

Additionally, Hepes is often used as a grinding buffer in plant studies, as a binding buffer for protein studies, as an eluent during cation exchange chromatography and as a running buffer in gel electrophoresis (ocasionally with Tris - also manufactured by Hopax).

Solutions prepared with Hepes are strongly advised to be kept in darkness as much as possible. Hopax's Hepes is specially tested and certified to be free of DNase, RNase and protease activity for molecular biology application.

Pipes USP min. 99%

Hopax is a manufacturer and supplier of Pipes (CAS 5625-37-6), a zwitterionic biological buffer often used as a buffering agent in biological and biochemical research.

Similarly to Mes and Mops (also manufactured by Hopax), this Good's Buffer lacks the capability to form a complex with most metal ions, therefore it is recommended for use as a noncoordinating buffer in different solutions with metal ions. Pipes contains two sulfate groups and is capable of exchanging a proton from each group, allowing it to buffer at approximately half the concentration of Hepes.

Its use has been reported in protein purification, chromatography and cosmetics. In personal care and cosmetics application, Pipes functions as a skin desquamation agent and a cream composition.

Hopax's Pipes is specially tested and certified to be free of DNase, RNase and protease activity for molecular biology application.

Bicine USP min. 99%

Hopax is a manufacturer and supplier of Bicine (CAS 150-25-4), a zwitterionic biological buffer often used as a buffering agent in biological and biochemical research.

This Good's Buffer is commonly used in solutions for protein crystallization and as a buffering agent in chromatography and polymerase chain reaction. Moreover, Bicine has been used by scientists as a buffer for the extraction of enzymes from various plant species.

Hopax's Bicine is specially tested and certified to be free of DNase, RNase and protease activity for molecular biology application.
