Duloxetine is in a class of medications called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs) and primarily targets major depressive disorders (MDD) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Duloxetine is also used to treat pain and tingling caused by diabetic neuropathy (damage to nerves that can develop in people who have diabetes). Duloxetine has no significant affinity for dopaminergic, adrenergic, cholinergic, histaminergic, opioid, glutamate, and GABA receptors.
Dupracetam is a nootropic drug from the racetam family.
Dyphylline is a xanthine derivative with bronchodilator and vasodilator effects. It is used in the treatment of respiratory disorders like asthma, cardiac dyspnea, and bronchitis. It acts as an adenosine receptor antagonist and phosphodiesterase inhibitor.
Elesclomol is a drug that triggers apoptosis in cancer cells. It induces oxidative stress by provoking a buildup of reactive oxygen species within cancer cells.
Eletriptan is a second generation triptan drug intended for treatment of migraine headaches. It is used as an abortive medication, blocking a migraine attack which is already in progress.Eletriptan works in the brain to relieve the pain from migraine headaches. It belongs to the group of medicines called triptans.Eletriptan is believed to reduce swelling of the blood vessels surrounding the brain.
Entacapone is a drug that functions as a catechol-O-methyl transferase inhibitor. It is used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It is a member of the class of drugs known as nitrocatechols.
Entinostat is a benzamide histone deacetylase inhibitor undergoing clinical trials for treatment of various cancers.
Epinastine is an antihistamine and a mast cell stabilizer that is used in eye drops to treat allergic conjunctivitis. It is used as the hydrochloride salt.
Epirubicin is an anthracycline drug used for chemotherapy. Similarly to other anthracyclines, epirubicin acts by intercalating DNA strands. Intercalation results in complex formation which inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis. It also triggers DNA cleavage by topoisomerase II, resulting in mechanisms that lead to cell death. Binding to cell membranes and plasma proteins may be involved in the compound's cytotoxic effects. It also generates free radicals that cause cell and DNA damage. It is primarily used against breast and ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, and lymphomas.
Eprosartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used for the treatment of high blood pressure. The drug acts on the renin-angiotensin system in two ways to decrease total peripheral resistance. First, it blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in vascular smooth muscle, causing vascular dilatation. Second, it inhibits sympathetic norepinephrine production, further reducing blood pressure.
