Doxorubicin

Doxorubicin is a drug used in cancer chemotherapy. It is an anthracycline antibiotic, closely related to the natural product daunomycin, and like all anthracyclines, it works by intercalating DNA. It is commonly used in the treatment of a wide range of cancers, including hematological malignancies, many types of carcinoma, and soft tissue sarcomas. Doxorubicin's most serious adverse effect is life-threatening heart damage.

Properties Suppliers
Doxycycline

Doxycycline, a long-acting tetracycline derived from oxytetracycline, is used to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis and treat non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis, exacerbations of bronchitis in patients with COPD, and adult periodontitis.Doxycycline, like minocycline, is lipophilic and can pass through the lipid bilayer of bacteria. Doxycycline reversibly binds to the 30 S ribosomal subunits and possibly the 50S ribosomal subunit(s), blocking the binding of aminoacyl tRNA to the mRNA and inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis

Properties Suppliers
Dronedarone

Dronedarone is a drug, mainly for the indication of cardiac arrhythmias. It is used for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter in patients whose hearts have either returned to normal rhythm or who undergo drug therapy or electric shock treatment to maintain normal rhythm. A trial of the drug in heart failure was stopped as an interim analysis showed a possible increase in heart failure deaths, in patients with moderate to severe CHF.

Properties Suppliers
Dutasteride

Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that inhibits the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is approved in the United States for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and is prescribed off-label for the treatment of male pattern baldness (MPB). The teratogenic effect from dutasteride is harmful to male children. Women who are pregnant should not handle the capsules, as inadvertent consumption could cause birth defects of the male fetus. The adverse effects would be similar to 5-alpha-reductase deficiency, where a developing male child is naturally deficient in 5-alpha reductase Type II, and thus unable to synthesize it. As dutasteride blocks the same process, developing males would have a DHT deficiency with its adverse effects as a result of the drug.

Properties Suppliers
Enalaprilat

Enalaprilat is the active metabolite of enalapril. It is the first dicarboxylate-containing ACE inhibitor and was developed partly to overcome these limitations of captopril.

Properties Suppliers
Endralazine

Endralazine is an antihypertensive of the hydrazine chemical class.

Properties
Eszopiclone

Eszopiclone is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic used as a treatment for insomnia. It is the active dextrorotatory stereoisomer of zopiclone, and belongs to the class of drugs known as cyclopyrrolones.

Properties Suppliers
Etanidazole

Etanidazole is a nitroimidazole drug used for its radiosensitizing properties. Administration of etanidazole results in a decrease of glutathione concentration and inhibits glutathione S-transferase. The result is that tissues become more sensitive to the ionizing radiation used in cancer treatment.

Properties
Ethenzamide

Ethenzamide is a common analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug that is used for the relief of fever, headaches, and other minor aches and pains. It is a major ingredient in numerous cold and flu medications and many prescription analgesics.

Properties Suppliers
Eticlopride

Eticlopride is a dopamine antagonist used in pharmacological research.
