Tocopherols are a class of chemical compounds of which many have vitamin E activity. It is a series of organic compounds consisting of various methylated phenols.
Anthranilic Acid is used as chemical intermediate for preparation of dyes & pigments . Anthranilic Acid & its esters used in perfumes & fungicides, & in saccharin, cadmium salt- an ascaricide in swine, mold inhibitor in soya sauce.
Arsenic trioxide is an inorganic compound. This commercially important oxide of arsenic is the main precursor to other arsenic compounds, including organoarsenic compounds. Large scale applications include its use as a precursor to forestry products, in colorless glass production, and in electronics. Organoarsenic compounds, e.g. feed additives (Roxarsone) and pharmaceuticals (Neosalvarsan), are derived from arsenic trioxide. A variety of applications exploit arsenic's toxicity, including the use of the oxide as a wood preservative. In combination with copper(II) acetate arsenic trioxide gives the vibrant pigment known as paris green used both in paints and as a rodenticide. This application has been discontinued.
Benzene chloride is an aromatic organic compound. This colorless, flammable liquid is a common solvent and a widely used intermediate in the manufacture of other chemicals. The major use of chlorobenzene is as an intermediate in the production of commodities such as herbicides, dyestuffs, and rubber. Chlorobenzene is also used as a high-boiling solvent in many industrial applications as well as in the laboratory.
Benzotrichloride is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon. Benzotrichloride is produced by the free radical chlorination of toluene, catalysed by light or radical initiators such as dibenzoyl peroxide. It is principally used as an intermediate in the preparation of other chemical products such as dyes, used to make benzotrifluoride and hydroxybenzophenone ultraviolet-light stabilizers for plastics and in the production of ion-exchange resins, pharmaceuticals, and antimicrobial agents, used in the synthesis of benzoyl chloride and benzoyl peroxide.
Trifluorotoluene is an organic compound. This colorless fluorocarbon is used as a specialty solvent in organic synthesis and an intermediate in the production of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. As a solvent, trifluorotoluene is useful in mild Lewis-acid catalyzed reactions, such as the Friedel-Crafts preparations. The most common catalyst, aluminium trichloride reacts with trifluorotoluene at room temperature, however zinc chloride does not. A second and perhaps more valuable use of trifluorotoluene is as a synthetic intermediate. A derivative of trifluorotoluene, 3-aminobenzotrifluoride, is the precursor to the herbicide fluometuron, 1,1-dimethyl-3-(a,a,a-trifluoro-m-tolyl)urea.
Benzoyl chloride is an organochlorine compound. It is mainly useful for the production of peroxides but is generally useful in other areas such as in the production of dyes, perfumes, pharmaceuticals, and resins.
Brequinar Sodium is a novel quinoline-carboxylic acid derivative that has been selected for clinical evaluation. It inhibits de novo pyrimidine nucleoside biosynthesis and consequently, to blockade the synthesis both of DNA and RNA. Brequinar sodium is one of a new group of immunosuppressive drugs currently being developed for the prevention of organ graft rejection.
Bromoacetic acid is a relatively strong alkylating agent. Bromoacetic acid and its esters are widely used as chemical intermediates for the manufacturing other compounds and pharmaceuticlas.
Bromovalerylurea is a hypnotic and sedative discovered by Knoll. It is a non-benzodiazepine sedative and hypnotic of the bromoureide class that contains bromide. It produces barbiturate-like sedative and hypnotic effects, such as dose-related drowsiness, confusion, and impairs motor coordination.
