Cyanoacetic Acid is an half nitriled-malonic acid. It is used in the synthesis of intermediates and in the commercial preparation of barbital, for producing alpha cyano methylacrylate and dinbutyl phthalate, pharmaceutical industry for making Vitamin B6, caffeine, dye and agricultural chemicals.
Cyclopropylamine is used as an intermediate for the manufacturing pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and other organic compounds.
Tartaric acid is widely used in food, medicine, chemistry and light industry, etc. It is mainly used to manufacture tartaric acid salts, such as potassium sodium tartrate. It is used as beer foaming agent. It is also applied in tanning, photo, glass, enamel and telecom materials industries.
Darbepoetin Alfa is a re-engineered form of erythropoietin containing 5 amino acid changes (N30, T32, V87, N88,T90) resulting in the creation of 2 new sites for N-linked carbohydrate addition. It has a 3-fold longer serum half-life compared to epoetin alpha and epoetin beta. Darbepoetin Alfa stimulates erythropoiesis by the same mechanism as rHuEpo (binding and activating the Epo receptor) and is used to treat anemia, commonly associated with chronic renal failure and cancer chemotherapy.
Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid. It is one of the secondary bile acids, which are metabolic byproducts of intestinal bacteria. The two primary bile acids secreted by the liver are cholic acid and chenodeoxycholic acid. Bacteria metabolize chenodeoxycholic acid into the secondary bile acid lithocholic acid, and they metabolize cholic acid into deoxycholic acid. There are additional secondary bile acids, such as ursodeoxycholic acid. It has been used since its discovery in various fields of human medicine. In the human body deoxycholic acid is used in the emulsification of fats for the absorption in the intestine. It has, in some countries (including Switzerland) been licensed as an emulsifier in food industry, but it is no longer common. Outside the body it is used in experimental basis of cholagogues and is also in use to prevent and dissolve gallstones. In research deoxycholic acid is used as a mild detergent for the isolation of membrane associated proteins.
Dextromethorphan is an antitussive drug. It is one of the active ingredients in many over-the-counter cold and cough medicines. It has also found other uses in medicine, ranging from pain relief to psychological applications.
Dibutyl sebacate is an organic chemical, a dibutyl ester of sebacic acid. Its main use is as a plasticizer in production of plastics, namely cellulose acetate butyrate, cellulose acetate propionate, ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, and many synthetic rubbers and other plastics. It can be used for plastics in use in the food packaging industry, in plastics used for medical devices, and for pharmaceutical applications. It is also used as a lubricant in shaving lotions, and a flavoring additive in non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream, ices, candy, and baked goods.
Dichlorphenamide is a sulfonamide and a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor of the meta-disulfamoylbenzene class. It is used to treat glaucoma.
Dihydroetorphine is a potent analgesic drug, which is used mainly in China. It is a derivative of the more well-known opioid etorphine, which is used as a very potent veterinary painkiller and anesthetic medication, primarily for the sedation of large animals such as elephants, giraffes and rhinos. It is a semi-synthetic opioid, used mainly as a strong painkiller for humans. It is several thousand times stronger than morphine, although it is poorly absorbed when taken orally.
Dimethyl Maleate is used in many organic syntheses as a dienophile for diene synthesis. It is used as an additive and intermediate for plastics, pigments, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products. It is also an intermediate for the production of paints, adhesives, and copolymers.
