Properties Suppliers
Phenobarbital

Phenobarbital is a long-acting barbiturate and the most widely used anticonvulsant worldwide and the oldest still commonly used. It also has sedative and hypnotic properties, but as with other barbiturates, it has been superseded by the benzodiazepines for these indications. It is no less effective at seizure control than more modern drugs such as phenytoin and carbamazepine. It is, however, significantly less well tolerated. Phenobarbital is the first-line choice for the treatment of neonatal seizures. Phenobarbital is sometimes indicated for alcohol and benzodiazepine detoxification for its sedative and anticonvulsant properties. Phenobarbital properties can effectively reduce tremors and seizures associated with abrupt withdrawal from benzodiazepines. Phenobarbital is a cytochrome P450 inducer, and is used to reduce the toxicity of some drugs. Phenobarbital is occasionally prescribed in low doses to aid in the conjugation of bilirubin in people with Crigler-Najjar syndrome (Type II), or in patients suffering from Gilbert syndrome.

Properties Suppliers
Phenomorphan

Phenomorphan is an opioid analgesic. It is not currently used in medicine, but has similar side effects to other opiates, which include itching, nausea and respiratory depression. It is a highly potent drug due to the N-phenethyl group which boosts affinity to the μ-opioid receptor, and so phenomorphan is around 10x more potent than levorphanol, which is itself 6-8x the potency of morphine.

Properties Suppliers
Phenoxybenzamine

Phenoxybenzamine is a non-selective, irreversible alpha antagonist. It is used in the treatment of hypertension, and specifically that caused by pheochromocytoma. It has a slower onset and a longer lasting effect compared with other alpha blockers. It was also the first alpha blocker to be used for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, although it is currently seldom used for that indication due to unfavourable side effects. It has been used in the treatment of hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

Properties Suppliers
Phenprocoumon

Phenprocoumon is an anticoagulant drug, a derivative of coumarin. It is a vitamin K antagonist that inhibits coagulation by blocking synthesis of coagulation factors II, VII, IX and X. It is used for the prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic disorders. It inhibits vitamin K reductase.

Properties Suppliers
Phentermine

Phentermine is a psychostimulant drug of the phenethylamine class, with pharmacology similar to amphetamine. It is used medically as an appetite suppressant. Phentermine is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity (overweight) in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. It is a central nervous system stimulant and sympathomimetic with actions and uses similar to those of dextroamphetamine. Phentermine is an amphetamine that stimulates neurons to release or maintain high levels of a particular group of neurotransmitters known as catecholamines. High levels of these catecholamines tend to suppress hunger signals and appetite. The drug seems to inhibit reuptake of noradrenaline, dopamine, and seratonin through inhibition or reversal of the reuptake transporters. It may also inhibit MAO enzymes leaving more neurotransmitter available at the synapse. Phentermine (through catecholamine elevation) may also indirectly affect leptin levels in the brain.

Properties Suppliers
Phentolamine

Phentolamine is a reversible nonselective alpha-adrenergic antagonist. The primary application for phentolamine is for the control of hypertensive emergencies, most notably due to pheochromocytoma. It also has usefulness in the treatment of cocaine induced hypertension, where one would generally avoid beta blockers and where calcium channel blockers are not effective. It also has diagnostic and therapeutic roles in complex regional pain syndrome. It has recently been introduced in the dental field as a local anesthetic reversal agent.

Properties Suppliers
Phentolamine Mesilate

Phentolamine mesilate is an adrenergic blocking agent and an antihypertensive which is used for the treatment of pheochromocytoma, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, the kidney disease severe asthma, and so on.

Properties Suppliers
Phenyl Chloroformate

Phenyl chloroformate is a colorless liquid with a strong odor used as an intermediate for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals especially for some carbamates which are used as insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, sprout inhibitors and biocides.
