Sildenafil Citrate

Sildenafil Citrate a kind of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). It is the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) mouth medication.

Properties Suppliers
Silfar SE 4

Silfar SE 4 is a silicone antifoam emulsion. It is recommended for the food and pharmaceutical sectors, fermentation processes and agrochemical formulations.

Properties Suppliers
Silibinin

Silibinin is the major active constituent of silymarin, the mixture of flavonolignans extracted from milk thistle consisting of silibinin A and B, isosilibinin A and B, silicristin and silidianin. Both in vitro and animal research suggest that silibinin has hepatoprotective properties that protect liver cells against toxins. It has also demonstrated anti-cancer effects against human prostate adenocarcinoma cells, estrogen-dependent and -independent human breast carcinoma cells, human ectocervical carcinoma cells, human colon cancer cells, and both small and nonsmall human lung carcinoma cells.

Silicon Dioxide

Silicon dioxide (Silica) is an oxide of silicon. It is most commonly found in nature as sand or quartz, as well as in the cell walls of diatoms. It is used primarily in the production of glass for windows, drinking glasses, beverage bottles, and many other uses. The majority of optical fibers for telecommunications are also made from silica. It is a primary raw material for many whiteware ceramics such as earthenware, stoneware, porcelain, as well as industrial Portland cement. It is a common additive in the production of foods, where it is used primarily as a flow agent in powdered foods, or to absorb water in hygroscopic applications. It is the primary component of diatomaceous earth which has many uses ranging from filtration to insect control. It is also the primary component of rice husk ash which is used, for example, in filtration and cement manufacturing. Thin films of silica grown on silicon wafers via thermal oxidation methods can be quite beneficial in microelectronics, where they act as electric insulators with high chemical stability. In electrical applications, it can protect the silicon, store charge, block current, and act as a controlled pathway to limit current flow. A silica-based aerogel was used in the Stardust spacecraft to collect extraterrestrial particles. It is also used in the extraction of DNA and RNA due to its ability to bind to the nucleic acids under the presence of chaotropes. As hydrophobic silica it is used as a defoamer component. In hydrated form, it is used in toothpaste as a hard abrasive to remove tooth plaque. In cosmetics, it is useful for its light-diffusing properties and natural absorbency. Colloidal silica is used as a wine and juice fining agent. In pharmaceutical products, silica aids powder flow when tablets are formed.

Properties Suppliers
Silmitasertib

Silmitasertib is an orally bioavailable small-molecule inhibitor of CK2 with potential antineoplastic activity. It selectively binds to and inhibits the enzyme casein kinase II (CK2), which may lead to an inhibition of cellular proliferation.

Properties Suppliers
Silodosin

Silodosin is a medication for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It acts as an α1-adrenoceptor antagonist with high uroselectivity (selectivity for the prostate).

Properties Suppliers
Silver Iodide

Silver iodide is a inorganic, photosensitive iodide of silver used in photography, in medicine as an antiseptic, and in rainmaking for cloud seeding. It is prepared by reaction of an iodide solution with a solution of silver ions.

Properties Suppliers
Silver(III) Triiodide

Silver(III) Triiodide is a pale yellow odourless powder. It is used in medical for taking X-rays and radiography.

Properties Suppliers
Simvastatin

Simvastatin is a derivative of lovastatin and potent competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (hydroxymethylglutaryl COA reductases), which is the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. It may also interfere with steroid hormone production. Due to the induction of hepatic LDL receptors, it increases breakdown of LDL cholesterol. The 6-membered lactone ring of simvastatin is hydrolyzed in vivo to generate mevinolinic acid, an active metabolite structurally similar to HMG-CoA (hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA). Once hydrolyzed, simvastatin competes with HMG-CoA for HMG-CoA reductase, a hepatic microsomal enzyme. Interference with the activity of this enzyme reduces the quantity of mevalonic acid, a precursor of cholesterol.

Properties Suppliers
Sinomenine

Sinomenine is an alkaloid found in the root of the climbing plant Sinomenium acutum which is native to Japan and China. It is traditionally used in herbal medicine in these countries, as a treatment for rheumatism and arthritis. However its analgesic action against other kinds of pain is limited. It is a morphinan derivative, related to opioids such as levorphanol and the non-opioid cough suppressant dextromethorphan. Its anti-rheumatic effects are thought to be primarily mediated via release of histamine, but other effects such as inhibition of prostaglandin, leukotriene and nitric oxide synthesis may also be involved.
