Parahexyl is a synthetic homologue of THC, which was invented in 1949 during attempts to elucidate the structure of Δ9-THC, one of the active components of cannabis. It is similar in both structure and activity to THC, differing only in the position of one double bond, and the lengthening of the 3-pentyl chain by one CH2 group to n-hexyl. It produces classic cannabis agonist effects in animals. It has a somewhat higher oral bioavailability than THC itself but is otherwise very similar. Presumably it acts as a CB1 agonist in the same way as THC but as there has been no research published using parahexyl since the discovery of the CB1 receptor this has not been definitively confirmed.

Teclozan is an antiprotozoal agent. It is a dichloroacetamide.

The two chemists, William Crookes and Claude-Auguste Lamy, discovered thallium independently in 1861 by the newly developed method of flame spectroscopy. Both discovered the new element in residues of sulfuric acid production. Approximately 60–70% of thallium production is used in the electronics industry, and the rest is used in the pharmaceutical industry and in glass manufacturing. It is also used in infrared detectors. It is highly toxic and was used in rat poisons and insecticides. Its use has been cut back or eliminated in many countries because of its nonselective toxicity.

Udenafil is a drug used in urology to treat erectile dysfunction. It belongs to a class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitor, which many other erectile dysfunction drugs such as sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil also belong to. Ursodiol is an epimer of chenodeoxycholic acid. It is a mammalian bile acid found first in the bear and is apparently either a precursor or a product of chenodeoxycholate. Its administration changes the composition of bile and may dissolve gallstones. It is used as a cholagogue and choleretic. Ursodiol reduces elevated liver enzyme levels by facilitating bile flow through the liver and protecting liver cells. The most likely manifestation of severe overdose with Ursodiol would probably be diarrhea, which should be treated symptomatically.

Vanillin is a phenolic aldehyde, which is an organic compound. Vanillin functional groups include aldehyde, hydroxyl, and ether. It is the primary component of the extract of the vanilla bean.Vanillin was first isolated as a relatively pure substance in 1858 by Nicolas-Theodore Gobley.Vanillin is most prominent as the principal flavor and aroma compound in vanilla.Vanillin is also used in the fragrance industry, in perfumes, and to mask unpleasant odors or tastes in medicines, livestock fodder, and cleaning products. It is also used in the flavor industry, as a very important key note for many different flavors, especially creamy profiles like cream soda.Vanillin has been used as a chemical intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and other fine chemicals.Vanillin can trigger allergic reactions.

Vorozole is an imidazole based competitive inhibitor of the aromatase enzyme. It underwent clinical testing for evaluation for use as an antineoplastic agent; however it was withdrawn from testing when no difference was detected in the duration of median survival as compared to the progestational agent megestrol acetate and research instead focused on the other third generation aromatase inhibitors anastrozole, letrozole and exemestane.
