Tolvaptan is a selective, competitive arginine vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist used to treat hyponatremia associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, and the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone. It is also in fast-track clinical trials for polycystic kidney disease. In a 2004 trial, tolvaptan, when administered with traditional diuretics, was noted to increase excretion of excess fluids and improve blood sodium levels in patients with heart failure without producing side effects such as hypotension or hypokalemia and without having an adverse effect on kidney function.
Trazodone is an antidepressant of the serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor class. It is a phenylpiperazine compound. It also has anxiolytic, and hypnotic effects. It has considerably less prominent anticholinergic and sexual side effects than most of the tricyclic antidepressants.
Tretinoin also known as all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), is medication used for the treatment of acne and acute promyelocytic leukemia. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.Tretinoin is most commonly used to treat acne.It is also used off-label to treat and reduce the appearance of stretch marks by increasing collagen production in the dermis.Tretinoin is used to induce remission in people with acute promyelocytic leukemia who have a mutation (the t(15;17) translocation 160 and/or the presence of the PML/RARα gene) and who don't respond to anthracyclines or can't take that class of drug. It is not used for maintenance therapy.
Triacetin is the triester of glycerol and acetic acid. It is an artificial chemical compound, commonly used as a food additive, for instance as a solvent in flavourings, and for its humectant function. It is also a component of casting liquor with TG and as an excipient in pharmaceutical products where it is used as a humectant, a plasticizer, and as a solvent. It can also be used as a fuel additive as an antiknock agent which can reduce engine knocking in gasoline, and to improve cold and viscosity properties of biodiesel.
Triazolam is a benzodiazepine derivative drug. It possesses pharmacological properties similar to that of other benzodiazepines, but it is generally only used as a sedative to treat severe insomnia. In addition to the hypnotic properties, triazolam also possesses, amnesic, anxiolytic, sedative, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant properties. Due to its short half-life, triazolam is not effective for patients that suffer from frequent awakenings or early wakening.
Triclofos is a sedative drug used rarely for treating insomnia, usually as a second-line treatment after other drugs have failed. This drug should only be used for the short term relief of severe insomnia and should not be mixed with alcohol or other depressant drugs. Patients should not drive or use machinery after taking triclofos. It is a prodrug which is metabolised in the liver into the active drug trichloroethanol. This delayed action means that the half-life of triclofos is fairly long and it may cause drowsiness the next day.
Tripamide is a new diuretic derived from a sulfonamide nucleus that has both antihypertensive and natriuretic properties.
Uldazepam is a drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative. It has sedative and anxiolytic effects similar to those of other benzodiazepines.
Uric acid is a heterocyclic compound of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. It forms ions and salts known as urates and acid urates such as ammonium acid urate. Uric acid is a product of the breakdown of purine nucleotides. High blood concentrations of uric acid can lead to a type of arthritis known as gout. The chemical is associated with other medical conditions like ammonium acid urate kidney stones.
Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist with particularly high affinity for the type I (AT1) angiotensin receptor. It is a prescription medicine that has been licensed to treat several conditions related to the heart and blood vessels.Valsartan is an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) that may be used to treat a variety of cardiac conditions including hypertension, diabetic nephropathy and heart failure. Valsartan lowers blood pressure by antagonizing the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.Valsartan may be used to treat hypertension, isolated systolic hypertension, left ventricular hypertrophy and diabetic nephropathy. It may also be used as an alternative agent for the treatment of heart failure, systolic dysfunction, myocardial infarction and coronary artery disease.
