Capric Acid

Capric acid is a saturated fatty acid. The term capric acid arises from the Latin "capric" which pertains to goats due to their olfactory similarities. Capric acid occurs naturally in coconut oil and palm kernel oil, as well as in the milk of various mammals and to a lesser extent in other animal fats. It is used in organic synthesis and industrially in the manufacture of perfumes, lubricants, greases, rubber, dyes, plastics, food additives and pharmaceuticals.

Properties Suppliers
Caprolactam

Caprolactam is an organic compound. It is a lactam or a cyclic amide of caproic acid. It is the precursor to Nylon 6, a widely used synthetic polymer.

Properties Suppliers
Caprolactone

Caprolactone is a cyclic ester, a member of the lactone family, with a seven-membered ring. It is produced on a very large scale as a precursor to caprolactam. It is also a monomer used in the manufacture of highly specialised polymers.

Carbomer

Carbomer is an expanded molecule obtained by insertion of a C2 unit in a given molecule. Carbomers differ from their templates in size but not in symmetry when each C–C single bond is replaced by at least one alkyne bond, and when a double bond is replaced by an allene bond. The types used commonly are Carbomer934P,Carbomer940GE,Carbomer941GE.It cne be used to make gels, creams, lotions, and ointments.

Carbon

Carbon is nonmetallic and tetravalent-making four electrons available to form covalent chemical bonds. The major economic use of carbon other than food and wood is in the form of hydrocarbons, most notably the fossil fuel methane gas and crude oil (petroleum). Crude oil is used by the petrochemical industry to produce, amongst others, gasoline and kerosene, through a distillation process, in refineries. Cellulose is a natural, carbon-containing polymer produced by plants in the form of cotton, linen, and hemp. Cellulose is mainly used for maintaining structure in plants. Commercially valuable carbon polymers of animal origin include wool, cashmere and silk. Plastics are made from synthetic carbon polymers, often with oxygen and nitrogen atoms included at regular intervals in the main polymer chain. The raw materials for many of these synthetic substances come from crude oil. It can form alloys with iron, of which the most common is carbon steel. Graphite is combined with clays to form the 'lead' used in pencils used for writing and drawing. It is also used as a lubricant and a pigment, as a molding material in glass manufacture, in electrodes for dry batteries and in electroplating and electroforming, in brushes for electric motors and as a neutron moderator in nuclear reactors. Gem quality diamond is used in jewelry, and Industrial diamonds are used in drilling, cutting and polishing tools for machining metals and stone. Carbon black is used as the black pigment in printing ink, artist's oil paint and water colours, carbon paper, automotive finishes, India ink and laser printer toner. It is also used as a filler in rubber products such as tyres and in plastic compounds. Carbon acts as a macronutrient for the body, and is thus greatly required.

Carbon Tetrabromide

Carbon tetrabromide is a carbon bromide. It is used as a solvent for greases, waxes and oils, in plastic and rubber industry for blowing and vulcanization, further for polymerization, as a sedative and as an intermediate in manufacturing agrochemicals. Due to its non-flammability it is used as an ingredient in fire resistant chemicals. It is also used for separating minerals because of its high density.

Properties Suppliers
Carbon black

Carbon black is a material produced by the incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products such as FCC tar, coal tar, ethylene cracking tar, and a small amount from vegetable oil. Carbon black is a form of amorphous carbon that has a high surface-area-to-volume ratio, although its surface-area-to-volume ratio is low compared to that of activated carbon. It is dissimilar to soot in its much higher surface-area-to-volume ratio and significantly less PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon) content. Carbon black is used as a pigment and reinforcement in rubber and plastic products.

Properties Suppliers
Carboxypolymethylene

Carboxypolymethylene is a term used for a series of polymers primarily made from acrylic acid. It is frequently used as gels in cosmetics and personal care products. It can be found in a wide variety of product types including skin, hair, nail, and makeup products, as well as dentifrices.

Properties Suppliers
Cariflex IR0307 KU

Cariflex IR0307 KU polymer is a solution polymerized polyisoprene with a high cis-1,4 content. It has a high molecular weight as indicated by its Logarithmic Inherent Viscosity (LIV) value of 6.80 dl/g. Cariflex IR0307 KU polymer is manufactured to the highest standards but special requirements apply to certain sensitive applications such as food contact and pharmaceuticals. Cariflex IR0307 KU Polymer is used as a replacement for natural rubber in a wide range of compounds, offering advantages of light color, uniformity and low levels of impurities. Its good flow characteristics produce improvements in mixing and molding behavior. It is used for food and pharmaceutical packaging and seals, baby bottle teats and health care, adhesives, chemical derivatives of rubbers and very light colored or transparent articles.
