Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is a chemical compound used as a disinfectant, biocide, industrial deodorant and detergent. It is found in some newer water purification tablets/filters. It is more efficient than formerly used halazone water disinfectant. Mechanism of action is the release of chlorine in low concentrations by constant rate. Depending on purity, benzalkonium chloride ranges from colourless to a pale yellow. Benzalkonium chloride is readily soluble in ethanol and acetone. Although dissolution in water is slow, aqueous solutions are easier to handle and are preferred. Aqueous solutions should be neutral to slightly alkaline. Solutions foam when shaken. Concentrated solutions have a bitter taste and a faint almond-like odour.
Standard concentrates are manufactured as 50% and 80% w/w solutions, and sold under trade names such as BC50, BC80, BAC50, BAC80, etc. The 50% solution is purely aqueous, while more concentrated solutions require incorporation of rheology modifiers (alcohols, polyethylene glycols, etc.) to prevent increases in viscosity or gel formation under low temperature conditions.

Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) widely applied for the sterilization of swimming pool and drinking water, or fighting against infectious diseases, or act as disinfectant in raising silkworm, livestock, poultry and fish. Other applications of SDIC are found in wool shrinkage, textile bleaching, and industrial circulating water cleaning. SDIC is normally supplied in powder and granular, tablets are also available on request. Stabilised chlorine granular (dichlor) are used very widely to chlorinate swimming pool water.

SDIC (Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate) Tablets are manufactured using Dry Chlorine: Sodium dichloro isocyanurate that is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), WHO and UNICEF approved material. Tablets are formulated for accurate treatment of Water. These Tablets are available in different strengths for treatment of Water from 1 liter to 100000 liters of water. SDIC Tablet is an effective purifier of water. Its active principal is Sodium Dichloro Isocyanurate (DICHLOROS TRIAZINE 2-4-6 (1H-3H-5H) TRIONIC, Sodium Salt). This is a compound bearing dry chlorine (Hypochlorus Acid) that is useful even in hard water. It has a low PH. It contains chlorine stabilizer and because of its dispersible chlorine content, it acts with complete efficiency in water containing high organic contents.
