Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger are available in various option depends upon required application. It is particularly suitable for application where large heat transfer area is required in relatively confined space. Shell & tube heat exchangers are available in single-pass as well as multi- pass on tube side. Material of construction of tube is Borosilicate Glass (3.3). The glass tube are sealed individually into PTFE tube sheet with special PTFE sockets and packing. This unique ferrule type selling arrangement permits easy replacements and cleaning of tubes. Baffles on shell side ensure improved heat transfer by increased turbulence.

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is used in various industries for spin bath heating, for condensation/cooling of gases containing corrosive chemicals, as absorbers, coolers, heaters, flue gas(from incinerators), quenching for corrosive acidic media. The tubes and tube sheets are made of phenolic impregnated graphite. The domes/headers are made of graphite, special steels like SS-904, PTFE/PFA lined or rubber lined.The baffles are made of graphite or steel. The graphite tubes can be carbon fibre reinforced, if required. The heat transfer area is upto 1000 m2. Its tube length is upto 8 mtr. It is also provided with special features like full baffles near tube sheets to prolong life in operation.
