Glass-Lined Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger features two main types. The EC-type exchanger is mainly used as a condenser. In conjunction with the reactors, it is possible to make up distillation ranges of any composition. Its design is plain and permits to achieve great exchange areas with a small bulk. The EC exchanger can also be designed to serve as a heater or an evaporator. The ED-type exchanger is particularly suited for the heating/cooling of products, by means of the thermal exchange between one fluid and another. It is made up of easily interchangeable standard sections. The product-side connection is made with loose flanges, bolts and PTFE envelope gasket, and that on the jacket by welding neck flanges or threaded couplings with flexible metal tube. The advantages are it has ability to adjust the bulk to existing local conditions, it has option for increasing or decreasing the exchange area and further it is provided with large exchange areas.
