Falling Film Evaporators are used in food processing, textile and chemical industries. In falling film evaporator, water is distributed in tubes like a fine film layer on surface of tubes. Due to less wetting in surface and scaling, fouling materials will form a layer of insoluble scale that reduce its evaporation capacity. Feed vapour is separated in vapour separator. Use of falling film evaporator with multiple effects ensures high energy efficiency & is ideal for concentration of heat sensitive products, with low scaling tendency.

Forced Circulation Evaporator

Forced Circulation Evaporators are used for dairy, food processing, textile and chemical industries. Forced circulation evaporators are ideal for handling liquors with high viscosity or which have a tendency to salt and scale during evaporation. This is also used as evaporative crystallizer. In this type of evaporator, liquid is pumped through heat exchanger tubes at high velocity avoiding precipitation and creating high turbulence, liquid is then passed through vapour separator for separation of vapour and finally condensing the vapour in the surface condenser. Concentrated liquid is continuously discharged from bottom of vapour separator.

Multi Effect Evaporator

Multi Effect Evaporator is used for dairy, food processing, textile and chemical industries. In multiple-effect evaporators the heating medium in any subsequent effect is the vapor generated in the previous effect and thereby achieves a great steam economy. In Multi-Effect Distillation Evaporators, the upper end of the rising film evaporation tubes protrude from the upper tube plate of the calandria, so that the liquid after evaporation does not flow back into the tube and the vapor produced inside the tubes can leave the tubes without passing the liquid level on the upper tube plate. This avoids the excessive entrainment of the liquid and higher vapor and distillate salinity.

Forced Circulation Evaporator

In a Forced Circulation Evaporator, liquor is pumped from the bottom cone of the vapor body through the tubes of the heat exchanger, where heat is added, and back into the vapor body where evaporation occurs. Sufficient liquid height (submergence) is maintained above the liquor inlet on the vapor body and above the heat exchanger tubes to suppress mass boiling in the inlet and prevent boiling at the tube surface. This is necessary to prevent precipitation in the tubes which would lead to fouling of the heat transfer surface. A high circulation rate is provided for adequate tube velocity to achieve good heat transfer. Therefore, lower temperature rises are assured which minimize supersaturation of the solution. It is widely used in Nuclear, Chemical, Chlor-Alkali, Power industries etc.

Rotary Evaporator is a device used in Chemical Laboratories for efficient and gentle removal of solvents from samples by evaporation. The main components of a rotary evaporator are motor unit which rotates the evaporation flask containing sample material, a vapour duct which acts as an axis for sample rotation, and a vacuum tight conduit for the vapour being drawn off of the sample, a condenser with double coil through which the coolant passes, a condensate collecting flask at the bottom of the condenser, to collect the distilling solvent after it recondenses. Use of a Rotary Evaporator allows liquid solvents to be removed without excessive heating of what are often complex and sensitive solvent-solute combinations.

Multiple Effect Evaporators

Evaporators are thermal concentrators for concentrating dilute liquid for increasing the solids content and for reducing volume of evaporating liquid, widely used for the concentration of liquids in the form of solutions, suspensions and emulsions. In this evaporators one type of evaporator is Multiple Effect Evaporator. In Multiple Effect Evaporators (MEE), there is a conservation of heat as steam from the boiler is used for the first effect and then the vapour generated from the product is used as the heat source in the second effect. The vapour generated here is then used as the heat source in the third effect and finally heats water for some other process or preheats the incoming feed. Evaporators are used to convert entire quantity of effluent to zero liquid discharge by separating water and salt using evaporation and separation technology by concentrating the effluent to the saturation level and subsequent separation of salt and water through centrifuging and drying.
