Biorinil is a highly effective injectable glucocorticoid agent with antiinflammatory potency approximately 17 times that of hydrocortisone. It is part of several antibiotic formulations indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases of horses, dogs, cats, cattle, and swine. It is used in horses, dogs, and cats in the treatment or adjunctive therapy of certain ear and skin conditions when such conditions are caused by or associated with neomycin-susceptible organisms and/or allergy. It is not used in animals during last trimester of pregnancy where it may precipitate premature birth, fetal death, and retained placenta.
