Diphenoxylate Hydrochloride is a member of the opiate class of drugs.It is used in debilitated patients,obstructive jaundice.It is a synthetic derivative of pethidine with little or no analgesic activity it reduces intestinal motility and is used in the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhoea. It may also be used to reduce the frequency and fluidity of the stools in patients with colostomies or ileostomies.
