Magnesium hydroxide is an inorganic compound. It is a common component of antacids and laxatives.It interferes with the absorption of folic acid and iron. It is used as an antiperspirant armpit deodorant. Milk of magnesia is sold for medical use as chewable tablets, capsules, and as liquids having various added flavors, fire retardant for plastics, roofing, and coatings.
