P-Toluenesulfonyl Chloride is a derivative of toluene and contains a sulfonyl chloride functional group. It is a by-product from the production of o-toluenesulfonyl chloride via the chlorosulfonation of toluene. It is used as an intermediate for the synthetic of dyes and pigments, as a superior property plasticizer in polyamide resin, cellulose resin. It is used in dehydrations to make nitriles, isocyanides, diimides.
