Sebacoyl chloride is a di-acyl chloride. It is corrosive; like all acyl chlorides, it hydrolyzes in water rapidly, evolving hydrogen chloride. Sebacoyl chloride can be reacted with hexamethylenediamine, to give the polymer, nylon-6,10.
