CHANGI BUSINESS PARK, SINGAPORE: Abu Dhabi National Chemicals (ChemaWEyaat) has awarded the project management consulting contract for its Tacaamol aromatics project to Australian consultancy WorleyParsons, ChemaWEyaat said in a statement on Tuesday.
WorleyParsons will provide its services to develop the first phase of ChemaWEyaat’s aromatics project in Al Gharbia, near Abu Dhabi National Oil Co’s (ADNOC) Ruwais Industrial Complex in Abu Dhabi, the statement said.
The Tacaamol project consists of the design and construction of a reformer with a projected capacity of about 70,000 bbl/day and will include world-scale integrated benzene, toluene, xylene (BTX) units, the statement added.
The statement did not provide a timeline for the completion of the projects in Al Gharbia. ChemaWEyaat’s project in Al Gharbia will also include the development of Madeenat ChemaWEyaat Al Gharbia (MCAG), a chemicals hub that will provide the necessary infrastructure for the development of the Tacaamol aromatics complex, it said.
WorleyParsons previously signed a long-term frame agreement with ChemaWEyaat for engineering services in January 2009, according to the statement.
