PARIS, FRANCE: Air Liquide SA said it is expanding its home healthcare business in Europe with acquisition of Baywater Healthcare Ireland Ltd, a major player in this activity in Ireland.
Baywater Healthcare has 50 employees and cares for 10,000 patients, generating revenue of more than €12 million in 2014, said the company.
This acquisition marks a new geographical development for Air Liquide’s home healthcare business, with the extension of its services to Ireland. Air Liquide will continue growing the company with the support of the existing team, it said.
On the Irish market for 30 years, Baywater Healthcare specializes in treating and monitoring respiratory diseases in the patient’s home (oxygen therapy, continuous positive airway pressure and non-invasive ventilation).
“The acquisition of this company, which is recognized for its expertise in the treatment of respiratory diseases and for its culture of innovation, is part of Air Liquide’s growth strategy for the home healthcare business. It will allow us to develop on a new growth market in Europe,” said Pascal Vinet, vice-president, healthcare global operations and member of Air Liquide’s executive committee.
