LUDWIGSHAFEN, GERMANY: BASF has appointed Faisal Akhtar as Managing Director of BASF Pakistan (Private) Limited and Managing Director of BASF Chemicals & Polymers Pakistan (Private) Limited, effective immediately. He succeeds Qazi-Sajid Ali, who will retire effective 31 March 2014.
Prior to joining BASF, Akhtar was General Manager, Chemicals Business for ICI Pakistan Limited. During his 23-year service in ICI Pakistan, he has held several managerial positions in areas including new business development, strategic planning, and overall company management.
