BASF appoints new Chairman and Managing Director, Raman Ramachandran

Dr Raman Ramachandran, newly appointed Chairman & Managing Director, BASF.

MUMBAI, INDIA: BASF India Limited has appointed Dr Raman Ramachandran as the new Chairman & Managing Director with effect from 1 October 2013, subject to the approval of the Central Government and the shareholders. He succeeds Prasad Chandran, who relinquished the position with effect from 30 September 2013. He will continue as an advisor to the company until 31 March 2014.

Dr Ramachandran carries a Master of Science and a PhD in Agriculture, and has over 25 years of diversified experience in research, operations, new market development and strategic planning. He joined BASF in 2000, and before his current role as Senior Vice President, Crop Protection Asia Pacific, he has held several senior management positions in the company, including two years as a Director on the Board of BASF India Limited from 2006 to 2007.
