BASF opens flagship online store on Alibaba platform

SHANGHAI, CHINA: BASF SE has launched a flagship store on the Alibaba e-commerce platform 1688.com, China’s major domestic online business-to-business service. Customers can now purchase BASF products directly, online, with the same quality and logistics services guaranteed. The online store will enable BASF to serve small and medium enterprises in a more flexible and timely manner.

The first batch of 11 popular products from BASF’s performance chemicals, dispersions and resins, intermediates and care chemicals divisions are available at the flagship store. Customers can easily find products including antioxidants such as Irganox 1010, Irgafos 168 and Irganox 1076, Keropur fuel additives, NMP intermediates, and dispersions EFKA products, etc. More BASF products will be rolled out on this platform in the near future.

“With e-commerce omnipresent in our lives, almost anything can be bought with a click. It is important for BASF to make our offerings more accessible to our customers in the rapidly growing local market. The online sales model will complement our traditional sales channels, to provide convenience to our existing customers and allow us to identify and effectively serve more small and medium-size customers,” said Dr Zheng Daqing, BASF’s senior vice president, business and market development greater China.
