Bayer appoints Markus Steilemann as Polycarbonates business head
Dr Markus Steilemann, newly appointed Polycarbonates business unit head, Bayer.

LEVERKUSEN, GERMANY: Bayer has appointed Dr Markus Steilemann as the new head of its Polycarbonates business unit. He succeeds Michael Koenig, who will join the Board of Management of Bayer AG on 1 April 2013. At the same time, Steilemann will become a member of the Executive Committee of Bayer MaterialScience.

Steilemann, whose current role is head of Industrial Marketing, Polycarbonates business unit, joined Bayer as an internal consultant within Bayer’s Corporate Organization and Planning function in 1999. Since then he has held numerous positions with increasing responsibility and gained broad experience in business modeling, organizational development as well as supply chain. He was appointed head of global Industrial Marketing for this unit in July 2012.
