Bayer CropScience completes acquisition of Prophyta

MONHEIM, GERMANY: Bayer CropScience has completed the purchase of Prophyta GmbH, a leading supplier of microbial crop protection products headquartered in Malchow, Germany. The acquisition, which includes Prophyta’s product portfolio, R&D laboratories, production and formulation facilities, reflects Bayer CropScience’s strategic commitment to lead the way in innovation.

For Bayer CropScience, this acquisition is an important investment decision towards building a leading biologics technology platform. “Prophyta’s patented technology platform significantly boosts Bayer CropScience’s ability to offer growers worldwide novel technology and complete agricultural solutions,” said Dr Rudiger Scheitza, Head of Strategy & Business Management, Bayer CropScience.
