DORTMUND, GERMANY: Bayer Technology Services (BTS) honoured the outstanding graduates from the Biochemical and Chemical Engineering programmes at TU Dortmund University, further solidifying its partnership with the renowned school. The honourees were Markus Arndt for biochemical engineering and Frederik Scheiff for chemical engineering. They graduated with a grade point average of 1.3 and 1.1, respectively, on a descending scale of 1 to 6.

“Qualified young employees, particularly in technical and scientific subjects, are of particular importance for an innovative company,” said Dr Thomas Bieringer, Managing Director of INVITE, the research centre operated jointly by BTS and TU Dortmund University. “Smart minds with innovative ideas are the best investment in the future. The professors of the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering at TU Dortmund University are a unique team of internationally renowned top scientists,” said Bieringer.

A significant percentage of the young engineers who have joined Bayer Technology Services in recent years are graduates of TU Dortmund University, with which BTS is conducting numerous research projects, including INVITE GmbH. INVITE will focus on developing efficient and flexible production processes that conserve resources. One example is its co operation with a number of European partners to create a model for a standardized modular “factory of the future.” TU Dortmund University ranks among the top universities in Germany for chemical engineering together with RWTH Aachen University and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
