NEENAH, US: Bemis Company Inc said that it has acquired the rigid plastic packaging operations of Emplal Participacoes SA, in Brazil. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed and it will not impact earnings per share guidance for 2015, it said.
Emplal has recorded annual net sales of R$225 million ($58 million) in 2014.
“This acquisition supports our growth strategy to expand in markets that fit our strengths and capabilities,” said William Austen, president and CEO, Bemis.
“We look forward to integrating these facilities, which complement our manufacturing capabilities in the region, into our business during 2016. We expect this acquisition to be modestly accretive to earnings per share in 2016,” he said.
