KAZINCBARCIKA, HUNGARY: BorsodChem confirms that the construction of it's new toluene di-isocyanate plant in Kazincbarcika, Hungary, is proceeding as scheduled. The commissioning is expected to start early June 2011 and the plant, with an initial nameplate capacity of 160 kt/a will be ready for start early Q3 2011. As the unfavorable raw material cost evolution have and are expected to depress margins on TDI substantially in the foreseeable future, Borsodchem is in a process of reviewing the operation of its smaller TDI plant at the same location considering to idle the facility temporarily.
