MUMBAI, INDIA: Indian public sector petroleum company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is planning to invest Rs 200 billion ($3.6 million) in order to expand its facility at the Kochi Refinery and also to set up a petrochemical complex in Kerala, India. The two projects are expected to be completed by December 2015, informed R K Singh, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), BPCL.

During the ‘Emerging Kerala’ investors meet, Singh informed that BPCL is also planning to expand the capacity of the KRL plant from 9.5 mtpa to 15.5 mtpa. As part of the expansion plan, BPCL will also set up a petrochemical complex near Ambalamugal, India.

As a result of the ‘Emerging Kerala’ investors meet, the company could also attract investments from several private investors in various projects.
