MULHEIM, GERMANY: Brenntag AG said that it has agreed to acquire Leis Polytechnik Polymere Werkstoffe GmbH, based in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany. The company is specialized in development, production and distribution of high-performance polymer compounds.
The acquired business is expected to generate sales of approx €11.3 million in the financial year 2016.
Leis deliver around 700 products for a wide range of applications in highly diverse industries in Germany such as automotive, electronics, medical technology, packaging and building & construction.
“With the acquisition of Leis, Brenntag expands its portfolio in engineering and high-performance polymers business. We expand specific know-how in the polymers business to compounding, which is a fast-growing business. By offering in-depth formulation know-how and value added services, we continue to build Brenntag as the product development partner,” said Karsten Beckmann, management board member, Brenntag Group and CEO Brenntag Europe Middle East and Africa.
