Charlie crew is vice- president of SABIC innovative plastic
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: Charlie crew is vice- president of SABIC innovative plastic, a position he assumed in May 2008. Charlie Crew is retiring which is effective from Jan. 1. 2012. He will be replaced by Keith J. Smith, most recently DuPont Co.’s vice president for sourcing and logistics.
Crew was with Sabic and its predecessor, GE Plastics, for more than 34 years. Sabic bought GE Plastics in 2007, and Crew has led the Pittsfield-based engineering resin supplier since March 2008.
Keith Smith will join Sabic on Dec. 1 to plan for the transition. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering. He joined DuPont in 1980.
His experience includes a stint as vice president and general manager of DuPont Engineering Polymers. “Keith is an accomplished executive with diverse expertise and a proven record of delivering productivity improvements and growth, I am confident he will sustain this success for himself and our company.” said Al-Mady, Vice Chairman and CEO, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation.
