Clariant inaugurates new PP catalyst production facility in US
The plant was developed and implemented in assistance with CB&I, which makes this site as Clariant’s biggest production hub in US.

MUTTENZ, GERMANY: Clariant International Ltd has officially inaugurated a new polypropylene (PP) catalyst production plant in Louisville, US. This plant was developed and implemented in assistance with Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I), which makes this site as Clariant’s biggest production hub in US.

This new plant will further reinforce the site as the company’s most important catalyst business unit in North America. It will have sales, technical service, R&D, technical center, pilot plants and production.

This new plant is part of Clariant's long-term collaboration with CB&I's Novolen technology business. The innovative catalysts produced here will help the global polypropylene industry to efficiently produce a complete portfolio of polypropylene resins.

"This plant marks an important phase forward for our catalysts business unit. Our catalysts contribute widely to value creation in our customers' operations, and the catalysts coming from this special plant will help to ensure that raw materials and energy are used efficiently in polypropylene production," said Hariolf Kottmann, CEO of Clariant.

"We are pleased to partner with Clariant in developing this state-of-the-art catalyst facility. This plant will ensure high-quality and high-capacity catalysts production for our customers and the polypropylene industry," added Philip Asherman, president and CEO of CB&I.
